Armand Croft was born on Bastille Day, July 14th, 1941, in Torrance, California, in the LA basin, but grew up on a mink ranch in San Luis Obispo County, on the central coast. He graduated high school in 1959, and the University of the Pacific in 1963. After a year of graduate study, he attended the University of California at San Francisco School of Medicine, graduating in 1968. After internship and four years of specialty training in San Francisco, he practiced anatomic, clinical, and forensic pathology for thirty years.
He began writing fiction in 2003, and since 2005, has been writing full-time. He has completed twelve novels in the Andrew MacCrimmon series and is currently working on a thirteenth.
